Nusa Penida Area Dive Sites

Manta Point

Manta :

Location : Manta point dive site is a limestone rock off the southwest coast of Nusa Penida. The above water scenery is dramatic with limestone cliffs that descend straight into the ocean.

Highlights : To dive here is to see the 2 - 4m wide mantas. You may also see other pelagic such as tuna, and tiger mackerel. If Mantas aren't there, there is very little else to see except water, sand, limestone rock and your buddy. This is the place where they usually come to feed, but there is no guarantee of seeing them.

Conditions : The swell can be very strong, therefore it is recommended that this dive should be done early in the morning before the wind starts to pick up

Nusa Lembongan

Manta :

Location : Nusa Lembongan dive site stretches along the north coast of Nusa Penida Island East Bali

Highlights : You dive on a steep slope with overhangs and outcroppings and a wide canyon. This dive site is one of these places, that are either absolutely great or just outright boring , depending on the current you encounter.

Conditions : With a good current flow in the area. Visibility is around 20m+, Temperatures are usually 23 to 26c but may drop to around 20c

Nusa Penida

Manta :

Location : Nusa Penida dive site stretches along the north coast of Nusa Penida Island, East Bali.

Highlights : With a strong current flow in the area, generally there are many athias around, sometimes big fishes like giant trevally, sharks and if you are lucky, the Bali Sunfish ( Sunfish season) Visibility is around 20m and more.

Conditions : Temperatures are usually 26 to 29C but may drop to around 20C, so please be prepared.

Crystal Bay

Mola-mola :

Crystal Bay is aptly named due to its fantastic visibility. This site consist of a fantastic little bay in shallow water that offers excellent opportunities for photos, before sliding down into deep drop offs. Superb coral is only matched by the equally superb marine life. This is another excellent place to locate the mola mola.

Blue Corner

Manta :

Mola-mola :

Blue Corner has to be one of Bali's most famous sites. This site is flushed with current and streches down to some very unsociable depths. However, on the right day at the right time you will be amazed at the marine life. Mola mola in season, love to hang out here. You also will find marble rays, eagle rays, nurse sharks, dogtooth tuna, to name but a few. Experienced divers only.

Topayakeh

Manta :

Topayakeh has to be the best of all Nusa Penida dive sites. Actually the site breaks into two with Toyapakeh wall and Topayakeh. Both these sites are encrusted with coral and fish. This intensity of the fish life is something to be witnessed. Large pelagics are often seen here just lurking in the blue. A must dive - dive sites for any diving the Nusa Penida region.

Ceningan Wall

Manta :

The nutrient waters flowing out of the mangroves feed dense collection of multi-colored soft corals and sponges on the north tip of Ceningan. Sweeping out into current along the wall inquisitive eagle rays ocassionallu join the dive groups for the tour which winds through school of oriental sweetlips and sleek unicorn fish.
